At this very moment, these shoes and shirt are on their way to me. I've been looking for a pair of plain black flatforms for quite some time, but I could never find a pair that was a) in my (admittedly low) price range and b) in stock. That is, until I found these lovelies at New Look. Very simple, and exactly what I was looking for. While I was browsing the online shop, I also happened upon this shirt and I couldn't resist adding it to my shopping basket. So now all I have to do is be patient and wait for the mailman to appear at my door...

I love black, mixing different fabrics and to say that I am obsessed with statement necklaces would be putting it mildly; how could I not take these items home with me?

You promise forever and a day, and then you take it all away

I guess most of you have probably heard of British singer Ellie Goulding by now. If you haven't, please check out her music, it's simply amazing. About a week ago, Ellie released the video for her latest single, Figure 8. This has got to be my favourite track of her awesome new album Halcyon, it's so emotional and powerful. Also, this makes me even more psyched that I'll be seeing her perform live at Paradiso, Amsterdam in April of next year. I can't wait!

Wish you were here

And by 'here', I obviously mean 'on my feet'. These Cheap Monday boots are everything I desire in a pair of shoes: a little edgy and (presumably) comfortable because of the chunky, not-too-high heel. Alas, they are sold out in all online shops I've checked so far. Could this be fate telling me I do not need yet another pair of black boots? I can't promise I won't by them anyway as soon as I spot them available in my size. Only time will tell...

Winter esentials

There are two essentials that help me survive the harsh Dutch winter: a nice warm coat and a pair of boots with a profiled sole, for when the snow starts to fall and the streets in Amsterdam get dangerously slippery. Luckily, I found both these items at Zara. I absolutely love these, and seeing as how I've already received a ton of compliments on the coat already, I think it's safe to say I'm not the only one.

Another Love by Tom Odell

I've been listening to this song on repeat all day, as it seems to fit the dark and gloomy mood I've been in (I blame the cold weather). Both the video and the song are hauntingly beautiful, and I just can't stop myself from playing it over and over again. In case the song sounds familiar to you, Burberry Prorsum used it in their Spring/Summer 2013 womenswear show. They have the best taste in music when it comes to their runway shows.

The very first post on my very first blog. I've been thinking about starting a blog for I while now, and I've finally decided the time is right. On here, I will share all things I love and like, whether it be fashion, music, film, literature, random thoughts or anything else I might be interested in at the moment.
